It's downright strange to not have Thanksgiving this year.
I mean, Thanksgiving still happens, at least to a certain extent, but since it isn't celebrated in Europe (obvious reasons), we have to sit through classes and keep working all the same. I'm actually not a big fan of Thanksgiving (food reasons), but I loved getting together with my family and enjoying one another's company. We'd cook all morning and afternoon - everyone ends up being responsible for a dish or so - watching football off and on, chatting about the corn crop this year or what exactly I'd been learning in my psychology class. "Dinner" is served at three and the second my father puts his fork down, the Christmas music comes on. Some boy's choir voices will echo throughout our house as we migrate back to football, considering dessert. Evenings vary, usually with more food later or some ill-fitting movie to fill the time.
It's nothing particularly special, but it's the way we do things.
So I guess I have to say I am first-off, extremely blessed to have my family visiting me on Thanksgiving (travel reasons) and for them to be more than enthusiastic about spending our weekend in Amsterdam. (My goal at this point is to have my feast be eaten entirely Out of the Wall.) Second, I have another family at the Castle and a third waiting for me back at Emerson. I'm loved every which way and sometimes I don't know what to do with it all.
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
